Job Duties and Responsibilities:
  • This position will work closely with all Student Accessibility Services students and have a particular emphasis on assisting any Deaf/Hard of Hearing populations.
  • Position will be required to maintain records on student cases, conduct intake interviews, review eligibility for accommodations, and provide assistance to students with disability management needs as related to their education.
  • This position will not work in the capacity of an ASL interpreter. The person selected for this position will provide direct support to students who are Deaf/Hard of Hearing by providing disability advising, and must have communication competency in ASL.
  • They will be responsible for interpreter scheduling of class schedules, college-related appointments, and DACC event scheduling, as well as scheduling captioning needs and equipment loan of assistive listening technologies.
  • This role will also participate in education for faculty and staff, program development, and community outreach. This position will be required to support strategic planning and the community college mission.
  • All other duties as assigned.
Qualifications Required Education and Experience:
Associate's Degree + 4 years of relevant experience or a Bachelor's degree + 2 years of relevant experience.
