Full-Time, 10-Month (School Year) Position Summary The Special Education Facilitator is responsible for coordinating special education services and ensuring compliance with federal, state, and district regulations. This role supports teachers, students, and families by facilitating the development and implementation of Individualized Education Programs (IEPs), monitoring service delivery, and promoting inclusive practices that support student success Key Responsibilities Coordinate and facilitate IEP meetings, ensuring timelines and compliance requirements are met. Ensure special education services are delivered in accordance with student IEPs. Support teachers with accommodations, modifications, and instructional strategies. Monitor student progress and collaborate with staff to adjust interventions as needed. Maintain accurate special education documentation and records. Serve as a liaison between families, staff, and outside service providers. Train and support staff on special education procedures and legal requirements. Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and problem-solving discussions. Ensure compliance with IDEA, state regulations, and district policies. Assist with audits, reporting, and data collection related to special education. Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications Required:
Bachelor's degree in Special Education or related field. Nevada teaching license with special education endorsement. Knowledge of IDEA and special education compliance requirements. Strong communication and organizational skills. Ability to collaborate with diverse stakeholders.
Preferred:
Master's degree in Special Education or Educational Leadership. Experience as a special education teacher or case manager. Experience coordinating IEPs and compliance. Bilingual or multilingual abilities. Key Competencies Strong attention to detail and compliance management. Collaborative and solution-oriented mindset. Commitment to equity and inclusive practices. Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines. Professional communication with families and staff. Work Environment The Special Education Facilitator works in a school-based environment with frequent interaction with students, teachers, families, and service providers. The role requires extensive use of student information systems, participation in meetings, and occasional evening events.
