Doral Academy of Nevada Special Education Instructional Facilitator (SEIF) Doral Academy of Nevada, West Pebble Campus 6435 W.
Pebble Road, Las Vegas, NV Summary of SEIF Position:
The Special Education Instructional Facilitator will provide specialized support for school staff who serve students with disabilities in Grades K-8 at the school campus. The SEIF support will include assisting the school administration in all aspects of ensuring that school practices are aligned with the Federal Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA), the State Nevada Administrative Code (NAC) and Nevada Revised Statutes (NRS) and the Nevada State Public Charter School Authority (SPCSA) policies and procedures. The SEIF will provide leadership, professional development, coaching, mentoring and support to special education teachers and instructional support staff to ensure high-quality instructional practices, compliance with federal and state special education regulations, and improved student outcomes for students with disabilities. The SEIF serves as a resource for instructional planning, data collection and analysis, and progress monitoring of IEP goals. The SEIF will ensure high quality special education program development while collaborating and problem-solving with administrators, educators, families, and community partners. The SEIF is expected to attend monthly Doral facilitator collaboration meetings with the Doral Special Education Director, attend monthly SPCSA virtual meetings, maintain Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) certification, and attend special education professional development as applicable. The SEIF will report directly to the school principal or administrative designee, and will perform other job-related duties and activities related to the position as assigned. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Instructional Leadership Work collaboratively with the school administration and Special Education Director to ensure that all special education programs and practices are aligned with IDEA, NAC and NRS, and SPCSA policies and procedures. Provide leadership, professional development, coaching, mentoring, and support to special education teachers and staff. Assist teachers in developing instructional lessons and differentiated instruction strategies to meet the needs of each student's Individualized Education Program (IEP). Support special education teachers in the implementation of evidence-based instructional practices by modeling and monitoring effective instructional techniques and classroom management practices. Facilitate collaboration among general education and special education teachers to support co- planning meeting focused on student achievement and individualized instruction. Program Support and Compliance Monitor development and implementation of Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) to ensure compliance with federal, state, and SPCSA regulations. Support and monitor staff in completing accurate and timely special education documentation. Assist with IEP development, progress monitoring, and data collection processes. Provide guidance regarding Nevada Department of Education NDE) and State Public Charter School Authority (SPCSA) special education requirements and policies. Provide leadership in regular compliance reviews, audits, and corrective action planning as needed. Work with the Special Education Director to provide school information for special education state reporting. Student Achievement and Data Analysis Analyze student performance data to identify trends and areas for instructional improvement. Support and monitor the development and implementation of IEPs for students with disabilities. Collaborate with teachers and IEP team members to establish measurable goals for student growth. Monitor effectiveness of instructional programs and recommend program adjustments. Collaboration and Communication Serve as a liaison between special education staff, general education teachers, administrators, and related service providers to ensure proactive communication. Facilitate communication with parents and guardians regarding student services and educational progress. Participate in multidisciplinary team (MDT) and IEP meetings and facilitate effective problem-solving discussions. Collaborate with the Special Education Director and community agencies to support student success. Professional Development Plan and deliver professional learning opportunities related to special education instruction, compliance, behavior interventions and support, inclusion, and intervention strategies. Stay current on federal and state special education laws, regulations, and instructional research. Promote continuous improvement through participation in professional learning. Qualifications Required Master's degree in Special Education, Educational Leadership, or related field. Valid Nevada teaching license with Special Education endorsement. Minimum of five (5) years of successful special education teaching experience. Demonstrated knowledge of IDEA, Section 504, Nevada special education regulations, and IEP processes. Experience using student data to inform instructional decisions. Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills. Preferred Administrative endorsement or leadership experience. Experience coaching or mentoring teachers. Knowledge of Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS), Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS), and inclusive instructional practices. Experience facilitating professional development. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Expertise in special education instructional methodologies and compliance requirements. Ability to build positive, collaborative working relationships with educators, families, and stakeholders. Ability to communicate effectively in person, virtually, and in writing. Strong problem-solving and conflict-resolution skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines. Strong attention to detail in monitoring special education documentation and compliance. Proficiency with educational technology and student information systems.
