Job Description

Orange-Ulster BOCES is seeking an Assistant Principal to join the Career and Technical Education Center. This is a full-time, 12 month position with a Monday through Friday schedule. The duty of the Assistant Principal of the Career and Technical Education Center is to assist the Principal in planning, initiating, and administering the CTEC program. Responsible to the Principal of CTE and the Director of CTE. Supervisory responsibility for classroom and support staff as assigned. Specific responsibilities include but are not limited to the following: Prepare for SED approval process by reviewing and modifying academic curriculum. Review and modify academic curriculum to define units of study, benchmarks, and forms of assessment which meet commencement-level New York State Learning Standards. Oversee the administration of Standardized Industry Standard Assessment (ie.

NCCER, Prometrix, etc.) Assist in the interview process for teaching and support staff. Supervise teacher and staff assignment, duties, and responsibilities. Conduct observations and evaluations of teachers and support staff. Provide training and supervision to all CTE substitute teachers. Provide administrative support for Special Education Consultants and Student Services Center. Administer Student Code of Conduct, Positive Behavioral Intervention and Support. Assist staff with student discipline issues. Refer serious misconduct to the Principal and Director. Oversee vehicle parking and traffic supervision for staff and students. Administer student driving and riding policy and issuance of permits. Provide supervision for the arrival and departure of students. Prepare schedules for staff bus duty assignments. Act as liaison to school district transportation personnel. Assist with assessment, development, coordination and implementation of student awareness programs concerning Peer and Sexual Harassment. Plan and supervise recognition activities and special programs including CTE Week, National Honor Society, and assist with graduation recognition program. Perform all duties as required for addressing issues and concerns related to The Dignity for All Students Act (DASA)
Qualifications:
NYS Administrator Certification required
