DESCRIPTION
Rush-Henrietta is seeking a dedicated and visionary Coordinator of English as a New Language to join our administrative team. This pivotal role is responsible for providing district-wide leadership for English as a New Language programs and services, ensuring alignment with district goals, compliance with Part 154 of the Commissioner's Regulations, and high academic achievement for English Language Learners. Serving as a key resource and liaison for staff, families, and community partners, the Coordinator supports educators, guides program implementation, and fosters an inclusive and collaborative learning environment.SALARY:
Competitive per Rush-Henrietta Administrators' Contract, based on experience.QUALIFICATIONS
The ideal candidate will possess a strong instructional background and appropriate New York State certification in TESOL or a related field. Candidates must demonstrate deep knowledge of Part 154 of the Commissioner's Regulations and current research supporting English Language Learners, along with experience teaching ENL across multiple grade levels. The ability to provide effective professional learning, implement Multi-Tiered Systems of Support for ELLs, use data to guide decision-making, and ensure consistent implementation of the district's Comprehensive ENL Plan is essential. Candidates must possess certification as a School Administrator/Supervisor (SA/S), School District Administrator (SDA), or School District Leader (SDL), and demonstrate strong communication and leadership skills.RESPONSIBILITIES
Conduct formal interviews with students and families to identify potential English Language Learners based on the Home Language Questionnaire and Part 154 of the Commissioner's Regulations. Administer NYSITELL and the Multilingual Literacy SIFE Screener as needed. Gather, track, and share ENL student data with schools and teachers; manage records in SchoolTool and maintain digital student folders. Provide professional development for registrars, ENL teachers, and staff on intake procedures, program implementation, and best practices. Coordinate parent orientations and family engagement activities, including district-wide sessions and annual multicultural celebrations. Plan and oversee ENL programs, including summer programs, ensuring alignment with district goals and instructional standards. Monitor student progress, identify support needs, and guide the use of Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS) for ELLs. Support, coach, and evaluate newly hired and experienced ENL teachers. Facilitate study groups and professional learning focused on language development, literacy, and culturally responsive instruction. Collaborate with district leaders, ELA staff, special education, wellness, equity, and community partners to ensure equitable access and services for ELLs. Revise and maintain the district's ELL Comprehensive Plan and complete all required state reporting. Assist with ENL staffing, hiring, and budgeting, including Title III and Immigrant Grants. Attend professional development, district leadership meetings, committees (e.g., MTSS, MPAC, SHAPE), and building SIP meetings to share the ELL perspective. Coordinate and administerNYSESLAT
