Job Overview -
Director of Educational Services Compensation:
$90,000 - $100,000/year
Location:
New York, NY Schedule:
Monday to Friday (In-Office) TAG MedStaffing is hiring a Director of Educational Services in New York, NY for our client, supporting special education program operations, staff leadership, and educational service delivery within a school-based environment. This role will oversee educational, clinical, operational, and administrative functions while partnering closely with families, school districts, and interdisciplinary teams to ensure high-quality programming and regulatory compliance. The ideal candidate is leadership-oriented, organized, and experienced within special education and school administration environments. Responsibilities as the
Director of Educational Services:
Program Oversight:
Direct and manage daily educational program operations, including educational, clinical, administrative, and support service functions.
Staff Leadership:
Supervise, mentor, and support educational and clinical staff while overseeing staffing, training, and performance management initiatives.
Program Development:
Assist with program planning, curriculum oversight, policy development, and quality assurance initiatives.
Compliance & Reporting:
Ensure compliance with educational regulations, agency policies, reporting requirements, and operational standards.
Family & Community Coordination:
Serve as a liaison with parents, school districts, community organizations, and external service providers.
Operational Management:
Support budgeting, departmental planning, student placement coordination, and program expansion initiatives. Qualifications for the
Director of Educational Services:
Education:
Master's degree in Special Education is required.
Certifications:
New York State certification in Special Education and School Building Leader (SBL) or School Administrator and Supervisor (SAS) certification are required.
Experience:
Minimum of 5 years of Special Education teaching experience and 4 years of school administration experience is required.
Industry Knowledge:
Strong understanding of special education programming, school operations, educational compliance, and student support services is required.
Technical Skills:
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, email systems, and educational documentation systems is preferred.
Skills & Attributes:
Strong leadership abilities, organizational skills, communication skills, and professionalism are required.
