The Fashion Institute of Technology (FIT), part of the State University of New York and an internationally renowned college of art, design, business and technology with a strong emphasis on liberal arts, invites nominations and applications for a Temporary Part-Time Student Services Representative I in Precollege Programs.Job Description:
The Temporary Part-Time Student Services Representative I position is responsible for various tasks related to the College.Responsibilities:
Assist walk-in traffic from students, parents, and faculty for issues such as permission to leave early, programmatic questions, student-requested course changes, and associated paperwork process. Serve as a troubleshooting liaison for student-related concerns and provide classroom logistical support to instructors. Fulfill last-minute supply needs, provide registration and technical support for all walk-ins, and offer daily telephone/email/reception coverage, troubleshooting problems, and disseminating basic information on established policies and course offerings. Perform clerical duties, including weekly collection and recording of required student compliance documents for in-person and remote courses, and all other course paperwork. Overseeing student needs, tracking daily attendance, and assembling all materials needed for course preparation. Support remote learning environments, including class and orientation setup, and provide tech help support to families in the remote classroom space. Assist students with wayfinding, supervise lunch sessions, and support senior team members with medical emergencies and other program duties. Assist with special summer events such as opening day check-in and orientation, which may fall on non-traditional schedule days and hours. Handle seasonal projects as needed. Minimum Qualifications:
High school diploma required. Completion of either: Two years of study at an accredited post-secondary institution; or One year of study at an accredited post-secondary institution and three years of relevant work experience. Computer experience with an emphasis on data entry. Strong customer service skills, including excellent telephone manners, and the ability to work well under pressure. Proficiency in Google Workspace, including Google Classroom and Meet, and Microsoft Excel.Preferred Qualifications:
Prior experience working with youth populations is highly preferred.Additional Information:

$28.61 per hourWork Schedule Days/Hours:
25 hours per week, M-TH, with 1 mandatory Friday (May 29), in-person, work schedule subject to change based on needs of the department.
