Job Description

ACDS, Inc. is dedicated to providing lifetime resources and services of exceptional quality for children and adults with Down syndrome, Autism and other developmental disabilities. ACDS Westchester in Pelham, NY is a full-day special needs preschool program that offers a wide range of therapies to children ages 3-5. In addition to the preschool curriculum, children receive center-based physical therapy, occupational therapy, and speech therapy. We also provide family training and counseling. We provide a nurturing and supportive environment and offer our families education and encouragement to help their children reach their goals. ACDS Westchester is seeking a passionate and dedicated Education IEP Coordinator to join our team at our special needs preschool in Pelham, NY. We are looking for a dynamic individual to lead and support our educational staff in providing high-quality, individualized instruction. Full-time position, 40 hours per week, 52 weeks per year
Schedule:
Monday through Friday 8:00am to 4:00pm Occasional evenings required Summary IEP Coordinator supports the instructional and compliance leadership at ACDS-Pelham. This role ensures all student IEPs are up to date, with correct start and end dates, related services and demographics. The IEP Coordinator provides guidance to teachers and related service providers on IEP progress monitoring and documentation, fosters effective communication with families, and supports day-to-day concerns of the teachers and related therapists with relation to IEP Direct. This position works closely with the Principal, clinical staff, and teaching staff to ensure high-quality services and positive student outcomes. Essential Functions Coordinate all school district appointments for both evaluations and annual review meetings. Being a liaison between school districts, teachers, therapists and parents. Coordinating due dates throughout the year for progress notes and annual reviews. Provide guidance and support to teachers and related service providers on IEP documentation and progress reporting. Maintain friendly contact with school district representatives. Maintain accurate and organized IEP records, reports, and documentation. Review teacher annual reports. Focus on ensuring that the listed needs are appropriate and match the goals that will be presented to the parents and school districts. Create and maintain the necessary excel sheets with due dates and district requirements for annual reports and quarterly reports. Communication Maintain open communication with the Principal, administrative team, teachers, and families regarding IEP progress and compliance. Serve as a resource for staff to address questions and concerns about IEPs. Foster collaboration among teachers, therapists, and families to support student success. Model professionalism, fairness, and cultural sensitivity in all interactions. Compliance Management Prepare staff for district reviews. Uphold confidentiality of student records and program data. Education Master's Degree in Special Education or related field required. NYS Certification in Special Education (SWD B-2 or All Grades) required. Minimum 5 years of teaching experience with demonstrated expertise in special education compliance and IEP development. Supervisory, coaching, or mentoring experience preferred. Skills Strong knowledge of IEP development, special education regulations, Frontline/IEP Direct and best practices. Ability to coach and mentor teachers and related service providers effectively. Excellent organizational and communication skills. Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities. Collaborative approach to working with interdisciplinary teams. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and educational technology platforms. Culturally competent and committed to inclusive, evidence-based instruction.
Requirements Schedule:
8:00 AM - 4:00 PM, aligned to administrative calendar. Ability to work onsite at ACDS Westchester. Manual dexterity and prolonged use of computer. Approximately 60% sitting, 40% walking/standing. Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds. Strong parent/family communication skills. Work Environment Frequent interaction with teachers, students, therapists, families and school districts. Pay:
$75,000.00 - $82,000.00 per year
