Elementary School Principal Immediately Responsible to: Superintendent of Schools
Job Goal:
To plan, direct, facilitate and administer the total program of the K - 3 elementary school to insure that students receive the best possible education and services within the resources available, and that the school is an attractive, pleasant, healthy, safe and productive place in which to learn.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES
Educational Leadership and Supervision Helps teachers to develop themselves to their highest potential through inservice, conferences and personal contact. Is very visible in the school, school activities and community programs. Administrative Organization Responsible for scheduling and reporting procedures so there is a high degree of efficiency in the use of teacher and student time. Office Management Develops procedures that are as uncomplicated as possible and well understood by the entire staff. Creates a culture where visitors are greeted courteously and given prompt attention. Professional Characteristic Demonstrates ability to grow professionally and stay abreast of current educational advance, innovations and literature. Job Qualifications
Minimal:
At least five years successful experience in education, including teaching, supervision and/or administration. Graduate study beyond the master's degree with emphasis on school curriculum, supervision and administration. A valid New York State certificate to perform in this position. Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Superintendent may find appropriate and acceptable.
