QUALIFICATIONS:
Valid Ohio Certificate Intervention Specialist (Mild/Moderate, or Moderate/Intense)
REPORTS TO
Director of Student Services
JOB GOALS
Responsible for planning and conducting education programming and daily instruction for intervention.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Maintains at least minimum certification required for this position. 2. Assists with the identification of students. 3. Assists with parent informational meetings. 4. Develops and implements weekly lesson plans. 5. Maintains appropriate communication with county gifted program coordinator and building principal(s). 6. Establishes and maintains communication with parents on a formal and informal basis. 7. Maintains a learning environment in accordance with the State guidelines. 8. Collaborates with teachers who may also be providing services to the students. 9. Prepares formal evaluations for students at the end of each semester. 10. keeps informed of local school policies and local gifted program needs. 11. Supplies information for the annual gifted report (EMIS).
OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Provides input upon request for the selection of educational equipment, materials, and supplies for use in the intervention. 2. Researches and constructs formal assessments (student portfolio, written education plans). 3. Participates in staff development activities as deemed appropriate. 4. Serves as a role model for students. 5. Demonstrates regular and predictable attendance. 6. Performs all other duties as required or requested by the Director of Student Services.
