Position:
Secondary Department Head- High School Social Studies
Works With:
Assistant Superintendent, Curriculum Director, and Site Principals
Job Overview:
At each of the high school and middle school levels, a core department head will be selected to facilitate, lead, and work with their respective departments. This position is supplementary to regular teaching duties, requiring time outside of the regular contract day to complete tasks, meaning this is a stipend paid position. Essential Duties /
Performance Responsibilities:
Review Oklahoma Academic Standards and align to current course progression guides. Edit progression guides as needed Maintain department curriculum maps for the district on Mastery Connect. Assist with C & I District Strategic Plan Serve as liaison and spokesperson between your department and administration Attend department head meetings monthly Create agendas for and maintain PLC documentation To the extent possible, participate in state consortia and review opportunities Disseminate information from state newsletters and/or administration to your department Serve on curriculum adoption committee in the year your department is up for adoption
