Min Hourly Rate $15.05 (Standard); $14.05 (Non-Urban); $16.30 (Portland Metro) Max Hourly Rate $21.50 (Standard); $21.00 (Non-Urban); $22.00 (Portland Metro) Position Summary This recruitment will be used to fill one (1) Access Assistant for the Disability Access Services at Oregon State University (OSU). An Access Assistant (AA) is a student employee hired by DAS to assist a student with disabilities to perform tasks that are a required component of the course. AAs will only help conduct course-related procedures that the student is unable to complete due to their disability. Transferable Skill Development OSU is committed to ensuring students are prepared for success after graduation through intentional skill development as student employees. The competencies students develop while working at OSU are defined by the National Association of Colleges and Employers (NACE) as the essential skills employers seek in their hires. In this position, students learn and build vital career-readiness skills in the primary areas below: Communication, Teamwork, Equity & Inclusion, Career & Self-Development Position Duties AAs, under the direction of the DAS student, may assist with the manipulation of lab materials and with the completion of in-class assignments. AAs may also assist the student with navigating the classroom/lab environment. All information about the actual course and lab processes and procedures are the student's responsibility. Tasks performed are to assist a blind student in navigating BI 223Z class MWF 1:00-1:50pm. Additional hours may be available to act as a Reader for some exams at the DAS Testing Center with the student. Minimum Qualifications Full Employment Eligibility Requirements can be found here: hr.oregonstate/student-employment-manual/500-employment-eligibility-requirements Must be academically enrolled in a high school, community college, or university and pursuing a program or course of study Must meet Academic Standing Requirements; students on academic suspension are not eligible for employment Must meet the applicable minimal enrollment standard High School student: Regularly enrolled in a high school or participating in a home-schooling program Undergraduate and post-baccalaureate student: 6 credit hours per term Undergraduate international student: 12 credit hours per term• Graduate student officially admitted to
