Onsite - onsite Responsibilities Manage safety, environmental, production, and cost parameters associated with the conversion processes in the pulp mill Oversee day-to-day and long-term operations of liquor making, calciner, and evaporator trains Develop competency in other mill operations and assist during call outs or absences of other Assistant Superintendents Promote and maintain a safe work environment, ensuring adherence to safety rules and environmental permits Complete and manage environmental documentation accurately and timely Provide process and technical expertise for liquor making, calciner, and evaporators; troubleshoot operational issues Coordinate maintenance activities, including work orders and safety procedures such as lock-out/tag-out Assist with capital project development and planning, including collaborating with Engineering and Maintenance teams Prepare and monitor operational budgets, and document reasons for variances Verify employee competence, provide process guidance, and enforce workplace expectations and policies Purchase tools, chemicals, and parts as needed; attend technical seminars for ongoing training Evaluate and recommend process improvements and support related trials Requirements Experience in pulp mill operations and chemical recausticizing processes Understanding of kraft liquor cycle chemistry and mechanical operation of relevant equipment Ability to develop and support safety and environmental initiatives Supervisory experience managing hourly employees in an industrial setting Strong troubleshooting, coordination, and communication skills Capable of creating maintenance and capital project plans High school diploma or equivalent; advanced technical or operational training preferred System One, and its subsidiaries including Joulé and Mountain Ltd., are leaders in delivering outsourced services and workforce solutions across North America.
