Job Title Academic Coordinator for SAASS Department Athletics Academic Services Worker Type Regular Pay Type Salary Position Salary Minimum $40,000 Position Salary Maximum $48,000 Salary will be commensurate with the level of the position, education, and experience. Scheduled Weekly Hours 40 Benefit Eligible Yes Screening Date 2026-05-11 Job Description Summary This position works with the Student-Athlete Academic Support Services team to provide academic support to assigned teams. Assists coaches, athletic administrators, university administrators and faculty with any concerns related to the academic needs and overall development of the student- athletes at Miami University. This position specifically supports the mission of the University and the Department of Intercollegiate Athletics by assisting in institutional compliance with NCAA and Conference rules and regulations.

Job Description Essential Duties:
Provide detailed weekly and end-of-semester reports to SAASS staff, head coaches, and sport administrators on student-athlete academic performance and eligibility status: Provide one-on-one academic support/learning interventions Work with senior ILS to identify at-risk student-athletes Help train and support part-time individualized learning specialist when needed Educate student-athletes on the registration process, financial aid, NCAA academic progress, study skills, time management, test taking and other skills that support the success of students Assist the sport programs in talking with prospective student-athletes, parents, and/or guardians about the academic services provided at Miami University at recruiting visits and scheduled recruiting functions Monitor and maintain accurate and up-to-date continuing eligibility spreadsheets for all assigned student-athletes Represent the Office of Student-Athlete Academic Support Services on University Committees, and communicate NCAA and MAC rules and regulations on satisfactory progress and eligibility with college academic advisors and support staff Address concerns of faculty members regarding student-athlete performance Instruct summer bridge workshops as needed Other duties as assigned. Bachelor's degree Experience working and communicating with diverse groups of peopleKnowledge/Skills/Abilities:
Excellent communication skills, both oral and written Organizational skills with the ability to multi-task and complete projects in a timely manner Knowledge of NCAA rules/regulations Ability to maintain confidentiality Ability to make decisions and handle conflicts Problem-solving skills and creativity Ability and willingness to perform occasional overnight travel (including team travel) Ability and willingness to work occasional evenings and weekends Leadership and managerial skillsPreferred Qualifications :
Academic advising experience Master's Degree Experience working with NativeBANNER/BANNER WEB, NCAA
data submissions, Degree Audit Reporting Systems (DARS/NCAA DARS) Experience developing database structures and operations 1 or more years of work with College Students (graduate assistantships and internships fulfill this requirement) Basic understanding of FERPA rules/regulations Proven track record of utilizing and/or redesigning business processes to enhance services for student success General understanding of the admission application process Experience working with student-athletes Additional Position Information (if applicable) Required Application Documents resume & cover letter Special Instructions (if applicable) none Additional Information A criminal background check is required.
