Job Goal:
The PLC/School Testing Specialist will facilitate and support the growth and development of all PLC teams at the school, including developing structures and procedures to promote the development of high functioning professional learning teams at the school site. This person will coach collaborative teams to respond to the four PLC questions: 1) What do we want students to know and be able to do? 2) How will we know if they have learned it? 3) How will we respond when some students do not learn? 4) How will we extend the learning for students who are already proficient? This person will also serve as the school testing coordinator.
Performance Responsibilities:
Develops, implements, oversees and evaluates the effectiveness of all PLC's at assigned school. Assist school leadership in providing professional learning to support PLC teams in developing effective structures and protocols to work collaboratively. Continuously learns about Professional Learning Communities and Best Practices in leading and developing PLC's. Complete needs assessment with the school and then PLC teams to identify areas of strength and areas for growth in the PLC process. Provides leadership and coaching on the PLC process to the professional learning teams at the assigned school. Facilitates and models effective collaborative communication to support professional learning communities. Identify resources and strategies to increase PLC team effectiveness and efficacy. Attend and participate fully in weekly or bi-weekly meetings with the PLC Coaches from the other high schools. Attend quarterly meetings with the Assistant Superintendent of Instruction and Executive Director of Middle/Secondary Education to provide updates on the status of PLC's at assigned school. Attend and fully participate in regular meetings and trainings with the District Curriculum Department to build capacity in the use of data resources like Schoolgirl, Enrich, etc. This data will be used to share with staff in PLC's in an effort to continuously improve as part of the Ci3T process. Work with the District Curriculum Department coordinating College and Career Readiness Data at the school level. Conducts informal classroom observations and provides immediate feedback for the purpose of instructional support and program improvement (not evaluation); Engages in coaching cycles with individual teachers and curriculum teams; Coordinates and conducts staff development on the school and district levels; Introduces teachers to new methods, materials, and instructional strategies that, through research, have proven to increase student achievement. Other duties as assigned.
Terms of Employment:
210 day contract, 7.5 hours per day, compensation on the FMSD Teacher Salary Schedule. Exempt level position.
Evaluation:
Job Performance evaluated annually in accordance with Board policy on evaluation of professional personnel.
