PRIMARY PURPOSE
Provide support to students assigned to structured disciplinary and behavioral intervention programs. This position ensures continuity academic instruction while addressing behavioral needs through strategies, supervision, and restorative practices. This role supports student development and facilitates successful reintegration into the traditional classroom environment.
QUALIFICATIONS
EducationCertification:
  • Bachelor's degree required from an accredited university or college, master's degree preferred
  • Valid Texas teaching certificate, Principal Certification preferred
Experience:
  • Three years successful teaching experience
  • Experience in working with behavioral or related programs
Special KnowledgeSkills:
  • Knowledge successful practices which promote positive school climate and behavior support
  • Knowledge the educational needs students with disabilities who are serviced across all settings
  • Knowledge behavior management techniques and intervention strategies
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and responsibilities in a structured environment
  • Training in crisis intervention and de-escalation techniques
  • General knowledge curriculum and instruction
  • Strong communication, organizational, public relations, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to speak Spanish desired but not required
  • Strong consultation skills for conferencing with teachers, parents and students
  • General knowledge computer systems, proficiency in record-keeping and data management systems
  • Ability to maintain punctuality in daily work times, appointments, and meetings.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITES AND DUTIES
. Monitor and support student participation in campusdistrict service programs in accordance with district guidelines. . Monitor and support student participation in campus bootcamp programs in accordance with district guidelines. . Assist with the campus Re-Connect Center as needed. . Support academic continuity by facilitating student access to coursework and instructional materials during program placement. . Model effective social skills and behavioral strategies to promote appropriate conduct and personal responsibility for students. . Present a positive role model for students that supports the mission the school district. . Communicate with parentsguardians regarding student placement, expectations, and progress ensuring timely and professional correspondence.

Manage required documentation, including distribution and collection parentguardian permission forms. . Maintain professional relationships with all colleagues, students, parents, and community members. . Maintain accurate and confidential records related to student behavior, attendance, and program participation in compliance with district procedures. . Channel any concerns expressed to the Director Student Services. . Communicate regularly with the Student Services Director. . Engage in continuous improvement professional performance by pursuing a program continuing education including but not limited to participation in professional conferences workshops, and meetings per district guidelines. . Demonstrate behavior that is professional, ethical, and responsible. . Maintain knowledge to comply with federal, state, district, and school policies. . Attend and participate in districtcampusdepartmental meetings as required. . Compile, maintain, and file all reports, and other documents as required in a timely manner. . Perform any other duties assigned by Student Services Director.

Physical DemandsEnvironment Factors:
  • Indoor and outdoor conditions exposure to varying environmental conditions, including heat and cold weather.

  • Driving between campuses.
  • Lifting and carrying up to lbs.
  • Frequent prolonged or irregular work hours.
  • Manage students who may be prone to physically aggressive situations.
