Job Description

Under minimal supervision, responsible for leading the administrative support for the department's academic mission to ensure compliance with standards set by internal and external regulating bodies. Facilitates and coordinates various academic activities, maintains records, databases, provides curriculum information, manages the application process and maintains documentation for continued accreditation. Demonstrated business acumen in managing budgets, contracting and funding sources. Ability to evaluate and plan human resources needs, recruit and supervise personnel. Strong verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills. Ability to serve as a resource to faculty, staff and students. Ability to work in a dynamic, interdisciplinary environment and capable of self-direction with long periods of indirect supervision.
Education:
Bachelor's Degree degree in Business Administration, Education, or related field is required.
Experience:
Five (5) years experience is required; may require specific experience in curriculum development. This position may require the ability to maintain the security and integrity of UT San Antonio and its infrastructure per Texas
EO-GA-48.
Oversees the day-to-day administrative support operations of an academic department including the budgetary management and acquisition of supplies/materials. Maintains program tracking and compliance, annual submission for re-accreditation and assists faculty with class scheduling, correspondence and other administrative tasks. Oversees the preparation and maintenance of the contracts with adjunct faculty or clinical practicum sites. Assists with preparation for hiring, advertisement, scheduling and coordination for interviews. Maintains academic records on all students in accordance with Institutional policies and accreditation guidelines. Oversees completion of learning outcome evaluations of all students. Provides assistance with the coordination of student recruitment, interview for admissions, orientation and graduations events. Assists with scheduling and administration of students' comprehensive examinations at the end of graduate studies. Performs all other duties as assigned.
