AND PURPOSE
The Assistant Principal supports the Principal in leading instructional improvement and maintaining effective school operations that promote student success. At CISD, this role helps ensure that classrooms are supported through coaching, data-driven decision-making, and strong systems for student culture and engagement. The Assistant Principal works closely with teachers and staff to strengthen instruction, maintain a safe learning environment, and support the overall success of students and the school community
QUALIFICATIONS
Education/Certification:
? Master's degree in Educational Leadership, Curriculum & Instruction, Measurement and Evaluation, or related field preferred. ? Texas principal or administrator certification preferred.
Experience:
? Master's degree in educational leadership, school administration, or a related field ? Valid Texas assistant principal or principal certification required; TEA requires candidates to complete an approved educator preparation program, hold a master's degree, and pass the required certification exam. ? Strong knowledge of school leadership practices including instructional support, student culture systems, discipline procedures, and school operations
SPECIAL KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS
? Ability to work effectively with diverse students, families, staff, and community partners ? Strong leadership, communication, interpersonal, and collaboration skills ? Ability to analyze student data and use technology systems to support instructional improvement and school operations ? Commitment to student success, safe school environments, and equitable access to learning opportunities ? Bilingual skills preferred
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
I.
INSTRUCTIONAL SUPPORT
? Conduct classroom observations and instructional walkthroughs. ? Provide coaching and feedback to teachers to improve instructional practice. ? Support the implementation of curriculum and instructional programs.
II. STUDENT CULTURE & DISCIPLINE
? Oversee student behavior systems and discipline procedures. ? Support restorative practices and positive behavior interventions. ? Monitor attendance and student engagement.
III. OPERATIONAL SUPPORT
? Assist in scheduling, supervision, and school operations. ? Coordinate testing administration and other campus programs. ? Ensure compliance with district policies and procedures.
IV. TEACHER SUPPORT
? Assist in teacher evaluation and professional development activities. ? Support new teacher onboarding and mentoring.
V. SCHOOL IMPROVEMENT
? Analyze student achievement and behavioral data. ? Support implementation of the campus improvement plan.

Regular and punctual attendance at the worksite is required for this position. ?
