Job Description

This position is a 1.0 FTE located within the Office of Special Education .
RESPONSIBILITIES
Knowledgeable about special education policies and procedures. Ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary team. Familiar with Synergy SIS and SE. Knowledgeable about positive behavioral supports. Knowledgeable of Section 504.
EXPERIENCE
At least three years experience in special education or related fields. Experience and ability in reviewing and evaluating assessment data prepared for the special education process. Experience working with students with special needs. Experience working in schools as a teacher.
QUALIFICATIONS
Must have or be eligible for Virginia licensure. Special Education or Speech Language Pathology endorsement. Work effectively as part of a team. Strong organizational skills, both verbal and written. Creative problem solving skills. Effective presentation skills. Ability to present to small and medium-sized audiences. Knowledge of needs and behaviors of students with IEPs and 504 accommodations. Coordinate and prioritize multiple tasks simultaneously. Flexibility in dealing with job and schedule. Assume responsibility and display initiative. Handle and maintain confidential information regarding students, staff, and parents. Dual endorsement in English as a Second Language and/or Special Education, or in any other content area, is preferred but not required.
Salary:
Salary will be based on the
FY2026-27
salary schedule.
