Reports To:
Building Principal Job Goal:
To work with students, staff and parents in providing the necessary communication and consistency of enforcement of school rules to meet the goal of a safe and nurturing climate for all school activities and athletics.Qualifications:
Have or qualify for, a valid Washington State Teacher Certificate. Experience in middle school athletic organization and activities. Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with those contacted in the course of work. Demonstrated organizational skills and commitment to follow through on tasks. Demonstrated effective communication and interpersonal skills, both orally and in writing with students, parents, staff and patrons. Fingerprint and criminal history background check through Washington State Patrol and FBI required.Performance Responsibilities:
Coordinate the development of practice and contest schedules for athletic activities in conjunction with officials' associations, district transportation department, custodians and others as needed. Maintain regular communication with the coaches and the principal regarding all activities and athletic programs. Work in coordination with the building principal for all personnel matters related to athletics and activities. Monitor athlete compliance with Goldendale School District activities/athletic contract. Recruit supplemental personnel such as timer, scorekeepers and other people to conduct various games and meetings. Work with the building principal in the establishment of budgets and expenditures. District purchase order procedures will be followed to purchase equipment and supplies. Promptly submit all invoices for officials to the district office after reviewing for accuracy. Maintain a total written inventory of all athletic equipment for each sport and submit copies to the principal annually at the end of the sport season. Arrange for availability of workable equipment necessary for the administration of contest. Make sure that all game control equipment, scoreboard control, public address system is tested, operable and ready for the season. Recommend the purchase of equipment, supplies and facilities needs relating to activities and athletics. In coordination with the principal, maintain eligibility reports, insurance forms, travel permission, physicals, concussion forms and grade reports. Coordinate with principal to review and distribute the Athletic/Activities Handbook information annually. Share with other members of the administration in the supervision of crowd control of night activities. Represent the school when appropriate at meetings and conferences relating to athletics and activities. Promote good public relations within and outside of the district. Inform the principal of any necessary maintenance or safety related issues/hazards that may affect activities. Arrange for inspection of athletic facilities for safety before scheduled utilization. Supervise the process of all student insurance claims. Other duties as assigned by principal.Terms of Employment:
