Milwaukee HS Athletics - Vincent High School Athletic Director Milwaukee Public Schools - 3.7 Milwaukee, WI Job Details Part-time 1 day ago Qualifications Education administration Overseeing educational regulatory compliance Expense management Safety regulations Mid-level Working with high schoolers Compliance management implementation Schedule management Policy & process development Financial record maintenance Order placement Transportation planning Public relations Practicing budget management in an educational setting School policy and procedure enforcement Expenditure monitoring Equipment inventory management Full Job Description Job Summary The role of the Athletic director for the MPS City Conference is one which he/she implements administrative policies and procedures for Interscholastic Athletics, directs and coordinates administrative functions related to athletics in school including administrative management, program development and organizing use of building facilities by athletic teams, serves as liaison between coaches and the principal, advises the principal on matters pertaining to athletics, serves as chief of the athletic department of the school, advises coaches of rules and interpretation of rules, issues uniforms and first aid supplies, and serves as the enforcement official of all school, MPS, conference WIAA rules and regulations dealing with athletics. The athletic director is an administrative manager and program coordinator serving as the agent for the principal. He/she is responsible for the total athletic program in his/her school within the school year. All coaches should take their concerns to the athletic directors, the athletic directors to the principal and finally, any concern could be brought to the attention of the Interscholastic Athletics Office. Position Summary I. Implements administrative policies to support the WIAA conference and MPS rules and regulations. ; ;A. Develops policies and procedures on athletics within the school with the approval of the school principal. ; ;B. Conducts regular staff meeting with coaches, principals and related personnel to communicate current policies and procedures. ; ;C. Develops annual goals for the school';s athletic program. Develops individual sport goals in conjunction with each head coach. II. Scheduling ; ;A. Develops a facility use schedule for practices and competition in cooperation with the principal, physical education chairperson and coaches. ; ;B. Assists coaches in locating practice facilities. ; ;C. Submits contracts and schedules for all non-conference contests to the Interscholastic Athletics Office. III. Eligibility ; ;A. Determines eligibility of all student-athletes within MPS eligibility policies ; ;B. Enforces institutional control over participation of all student-athletes on roster at all times ; ;C. Processes all eligibility information in the rSchool Online Registration System including GPA, attendance, and behavior of all participating student-athletes IV. Equipment ; ;A. Issues and retrieves baseball and football uniforms and safety gear in conjunction with the coach. ; ;B. Issues uniform in all sports except baseball and football to coaches for distribution to athletes. ; ;C. Determines and monitors storage areas. ; ;D. Arranges for all cleaning and repairing of uniforms and equipment. V. Online Registration System Management ; ;A. Maintains all online registrations in system ; ;B. Authorizes Final Clearance status for all active registrations by required deadlines ; ;C. Communicates with athletic families (parents, student-athletes) all requirements for participation ; ;D. First point-of-contact for all online registration issues or registration problems ; ;E. Informs coaches of cleared student-athletes and maintains current status of all student-athletes ; ;F. Ensures all hired coaches are registered in the Coaches Registration system for proper payment VI. Transportation ; ;A. Arranges transportation for practices and conference contests within current guidelines. ; ;B. Submits required forms to the proper authorities. ; ;C. Arranges all transportation for non-conference within current guidelines. ; ; ;D. Requisition bus checks and/or athletic passes. VII. Budgeting ; ;A. Oversees the supply allocation. ; ;B. Maintains accurate records of expenditures. ; ;C. Prepares additional and replacement equipment requests in cooperation with coaches. ; ;D. Maintains accurate inventory and prepares all orders for supplies and equipment for submission to the school accountant. ; ;E. Inspects equipment in conjunction with coaches. ; ;F. Maintains an accurate inventory record. VIII. Financial Accounting ; ;A. Prepares all required financial forms for non-conference and WIAA tournament contests. ; ;B. Forwards prepared forms to the appropriate authority. IX. Public Relations ; ;A. Promotes all sports within the school and community. ; ;B. Prepares bulletins, schedules and posters to promote the athletic program. ; ;C. Conducts promotional activities such as assemblies, color days, ticket specials, etc. ; ;D. Arranges and conducts award programs and athletic banquets. X. First Aid and Safety ; ;A. Enforces all safety regulations ; ;B. Makes first aid supplies available to coaches and makes certain that each coach has a first aid kit available for practices and games. ; ;C. Enforces good risk management procedures and reports deficiencies to the interscholastic office. XI. Officials ; ;A. Contracts officials for all non-conference contests and sub-varsity contests within current guidelines. ; ;B. Prepares reimbursement paperwork for WIAA tournament officials in accordance with WIAA procedures for that sport when acting as site tournament manager. XII. Liaison ; ;A. Advises the principal of the status of the Interscholastic Athletic program. ; ;B. Represents the school and/or principal at athletic contests in all sports and at regularly scheduled meetings. ; ;C. Makes recommendations to the principal regarding the Interscholastic Athletic program. ; ;D. Prepares reports for the principal';s signature. ; ;E. Represents the school at athletic functions when requested by the principal. XIII. Discipline ; ;A. Recommends disciplinary action on athletic violations by coaches. ; ;B. Recommends disciplinary action on athletic violations by athletes in conjunction with the coach. XIV. Supervision ; ;A. Monitors activities to ensure compliance with all WIAA and MPS rules and regulations. ; ;B. Periodically attends athletic contests in which the school represented.
