Fall 2026 Overview Parnassus Preparatory Academy is a twice-weekly drop-off academic enrichment program supporting homeschool students in their pursuit of classical education. Classes are led by passionate and knowledgeable teachers and provide academic accountability and meaningful socialization. We seek teachers who are dedicated to the craft of teaching, know and love the subjects they teach, understand and love children, and are prepared to model the intellectual and moral virtues we seek to cultivate in our students. Parnassus Preparatory Academy is a community that forges moral and civic virtue, fosters wisdom, and nurtures a lifelong passion for learning. We are seeking a part-time Primary Grades (Kinder to Second Grade) teacher to join our team. Classes meet Monday/Thursday . Qualifications College degree required. Teaching credential not required, although knowledge in early childhood education or related subjects is desired. Preference given to candidates with an advanced academic degree. Classical education background helpful but not required. Commitment to furthering knowledge about classical education and teaching methods . Responsibilities Provide engaging, developmentally appropriate instruction for Kindergarten students. Foster intellectual curiosity, academic growth, and moral development in students. Communicate professionally with families regarding student progress. Maintain an organized and joyful classroom environment. Collaborate with faculty to contribute positively to the academy's academic and moral culture. Desired Attributes Well-organized and able to manage classroom effectively. Excellent communication skills with students, colleagues, and families. Intellectual curiosity and love of learning. Use precise, edifying, and moderate speech. Contribute positively to a collegial faculty environment.
