Our early childhood program focuses on play-based, developmentally appropriate learning, where imagination, rhythm, and hands-on experiences form the foundation for lifelong learning. We are looking for educators who value creating a nurturing, joyful classroom environment that supports young children's social, emotional, and academic growth. Primary Responsibilities
  • Create a warm, structured, and engaging classroom environment for young learners
  • Deliver a developmentally appropriate, Waldorf-inspired curriculum through storytelling, play, movement, and hands-on activities
  • Foster social-emotional development, independence, and positive classroom routines
  • Support early literacy and numeracy through experiential learning
  • Differentiate instruction to meet the needs of diverse learners
  • Monitor student growth and communicate progress with families
  • Collaborate with instructional assistants, colleagues, and support staff
  • Participate in school events, festivals, and community-building activities
  • Build strong, supportive relationships with students and families Skills & Qualifications
  • Valid California Multiple Subject Teaching Credential (required)
  • Experience working with early childhood or primary-aged students (TK-2 preferred)
  • Strong classroom management and ability to create consistent routines
  • Passion for play-based and developmentally appropriate instruction
  • Ability to build strong, nurturing relationships with young children
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills

They understand the importance of rhythm, play, and hands-on experiences in supporting young learners and are able to create a classroom where children feel safe, seen, and inspired. As a Public Waldorf School we do not require a Waldorf Teaching Certificate but do want our candidates to have knowledge of and a respect for the Pedagogy. We do ask that our teachers work towards obtaining the Waldorf Teaching Certificate and our Educational Foundation helps cover the cost for Teachers in the training program.

We are seeking Elementary School Teachers for the 2026-2027 year. Located in Orangevale, CA east of Sacramento, our two schools are nestled in tree-lined neighborhoods just across the river from old town Folsom and the American River Bike Trail. Our teachers and staff enjoy the benefits of living and working within close proximity to Rudolf Steiner College in Fair Oaks where they participate in continued professional development. Our solid basic skills curriculum is infused with the arts, music, movement and exploration of the natural world. We have a thriving garden, nature walks, seasonal festivals, abundant field trip opportunities and a healthy home/school partnership with our parents. We have a committed Parent Circle and Board of Trustees.
