The In-School Resource Teacher assigned to support Webster Elementary is responsible for supporting reading instruction as part of Webster's designation as a DEEP (Diamond Excellence Education Project) School. Webster Elementary Academy of Science and the Arts is a STEAM-themed magnet school. Their mission is to support children to think independently with curiosity and develop a passion for lifelong learning by responding to real world problems. The In-School Resource Teacher is a key member of the Instructional Leadership Team, ensuring high-quality, evidence-based literacy instruction aligned to the Science of Reading for all students. The In-School Resource Teacher will play a pivotal role in supporting Webster Elementary's literacy plan. The incumbent will be expected to: Increase access to evidence-based literacy instruction aligned to the Science of Reading, California ELA/ELD Framework and Literacy Content Blocks. Design and lead high-impact professional learning aligned to AB 121 guidance and Quality Professional Learning Standards (QPLS). Support site alignment to district literacy priorities and AB 121 implementation efforts, including participation in district literacy initiatives and/or committees when applicable. Collect, analyze, and interpret data to inform instruction at the individual, classroom, and school level. Use data-driven approaches to identify and support students in need. Offer direct, push-in supplemental small group reading support and tier 2 intervention using science of reading based instruction, primarily utilizing SIPPS (Systematic Instruction in Phonological Awareness, Phonics and Sight Words). Collaborate closely with the Webster team to ensure the highest quality standards-based instructional program. Engage in lesson modeling, co-planning, and co-teaching with teachers. Implement differentiated reading strategies and culturally responsive teaching practices to support all students, including Multilingual English Learners, students with disabilities, socioeconomically disadvantaged students, and gifted students. Identify particular areas of difficulty for struggling readers and creating a personalized plan to address student needs. Provide designated English language development for impacted grade levels.MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education and Experience:
Ten years of successful teaching experience at the elementary level. Experience as a reading specialist/interventionist as well as experience delivering high quality professional learning to teachers is required. Must have familiarity with Literacy Content Blocks and English Learner Roadmap documents.Licenses and Other Requirements:
