This is an exciting opportunity for an educator who is passionate about working with young children and committed to both their academic and developmental growth. We are looking for a teacher who understands current early childhood best practices and values a balanced approach—supporting children's social-emotional development while building a strong academic foundation. The ideal candidate is experienced, thoughtful in their teaching approach, and enjoys working collaboratively within a team environment. About the Transitional Kindergarten Program As our program continues to grow, Enlighten Kinder is opening an additional Transitional Kindergarten classroom. This program serves children who are four years old at the beginning of the school year and is designed to help them develop confidence, independence, and a strong sense of belonging within the school community. Our curriculum blends academic rigor with developmentally appropriate practice. Students are guided in building readiness skills, positive learning habits, and social-emotional awareness to prepare them for success in our advanced Kindergarten program. Throughout the year, children engage in foundational learning across language arts, mathematics, science, and social-emotional development. They also strengthen communication skills, learn to follow directions, ask thoughtful questions, and collaborate with peers. Enrichment opportunities include Mandarin, music, and physical education. Role and Responsibilities The Transitional Kindergarten Teacher plays a central role in creating a nurturing, structured, and engaging classroom experience. Responsibilities include designing and delivering hands-on lessons, fostering a positive classroom community, maintaining open communication with families, and contributing to the broader school environment. This position works closely with the current Transitional Kindergarten teacher and is an integral part of a collaborative and student-focused faculty team. Key Responsibilities Establish a supportive, inclusive, and well-organized classroom environment Develop and implement engaging lessons that reflect both academic goals and developmental needs Support children's growth in social-emotional skills alongside early academic learning Use interactive, hands-on approaches that encourage exploration and active participation Promote positive peer interactions, cooperation, and problem-solving Guide students in developing independence, self-regulation, and responsible behavior Maintain a safe, clean, and stimulating classroom space Communicate regularly and professionally with families about student progress Prepare progress reports and documentation of student development Collaborate with colleagues, participate in meetings, and contribute to school events Supervise students during non-classroom times such as recess, lunch, and field trips Engage with students in a caring, respectful, and responsive manner Participate actively in the life of the school community Qualifications Bachelor's degree or higher in early childhood education, child development, elementary education, or a related field Teaching credential preferred Experience teaching Transitional Kindergarten, Kindergarten, or academically focused preschool programs Strong understanding of child development and appropriate instructional strategies Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Ability to build positive, professional relationships with families and colleagues Patience, flexibility, and a positive, proactive attitude Strong classroom management and conflict-resolution skills Creativity and initiative in lesson planning and classroom activities Strong professional references Compensation Salary range: $70,000 - $90,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications.
