Small neighborhood schools are a hallmark of the District where students are educated from preschool through twelfth grade and a world-class adult school program offers unique, life-improving courses to thousands of community members. Job Summary Job Summary We have five AIT vacancies available at multiple sites, including C.L. Smith, Hawthorne and Sinsheimer. Under the immediate direction of the school principal, the academic intervention teacher will work with identified children to accelerate their academic skills. Teaching could occur in a push-in or pull-out model, usually in small groups. Essential Functions of this
Position:
  • Works with identified students to accelerate their academic performance.
  • Works cooperatively with teachers, aides, and administration.
  • Performs directed teaching, diagnosing, and planning.
  • Develops and maintains systems of recordkeeping.
  • Assists with assessment of students.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
135 Day calendar.
