We have both city neighborhood schools and those in the rural, outlying area of Santa Rosa. The surrounding countryside is within walking distance and provides access to the incredible wine and grape regions, including the Russian River appellation. We are located 50 miles north of San Francisco, 20 miles east of the Sonoma County beaches border the Pacific Ocean and are 15 miles west of Napa Valley. The Piner-Olivet Union School District has outstanding academic and student-centered programs that support all students. The district of approximately 1,250 students operates three TK-6 grade elementary schools: Jack London, Olivet Charter, and Morrice Schaefer Charter. For the secondary students, the Piner-Olivet Charter School serves students in grades 7th & 8th, while Northwest Prep serves students in grades 7th and 12th. The average size of our elementary schools is about 300 students, while our secondary schools are even smaller. Students are given the attention each one deserves. In addition to a strong academic program, our students are provided with a robust and well-rounded program that includes art, music, library studies, and PE. After-school options include competitive sports, homework support, and a variety of enrichment opportunities. We partner with our local Boys & Girls Club for on-site after-school care.
