Brief Description of Position:
Provides an educational program for pupils in grades TK through Eighth grade consistent with the Common Core Standards and performs such duties according to policies set by the Governing Board.
Major Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Incorporate the Common Core State Standards (CCSS) in all subject matter relating to Reading, Language Arts, Mathematics, Science, Social Studies, and any other pertaining subjects. 2. Instructs students in citizenship, basic communication skills, and other general elements specified by State Standards. 3. Provide a safe and inviting environment experience for all students in order to motivate students. 4. Develop lesson plans that are clear and concise and rooted in the CCSS. 5. Establish and maintain a functioning classroom. Be consistent and maintain a level of expectation for all students. 6. Evaluate students' academic and social growth according to school benchmarks and CCSS. 7. Identify students' needs and cooperate with other professional staff members to address all needs regarding academic or social. 8. Maintain professional competence by attending trainings, staff meetings, and other professional trainings. 9. Perform school related tasks such as: athletics, music, ballet, or any other extracurricular task that may present itself. 10. Cooperate with administration to mutually develop a system by which evaluation and assessment guidelines will be set forth.
