Lower Elementary Teacher Responsibilities:
Homeroom teacher in a K-2 elementary division Provide a stimulating and creative learning environment Use best practices regarding student-centered instruction Participate in ongoing specific trainings such as literacy, math and differentiation Provide regular and thorough feedback to all BCD constituents (students, parents and colleagues) Support enrollment and retention by assisting in tours, events and other school outreach activities Other duties as assigned by Head of School Hours and Pay BCD's teachers work traditional school hours (7:30
  • 3:30) Salary range is $54,000 to $85,000 annually This is a 10 month position following an August through May school year calendar.
This is an exempt position with excellent benefits and paid time off as outlined below Requirements Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education, Master's preferred Experience teaching in elementary level Background in Responsive Classroom (RC) and/or Orton-Gillingham (OG) model Knowledge of or background in independent schools Demonstrate effective communication skills Passion for teaching elementary school children Be a team player, open minded, flexible, and reflective Commit to cultivating a diverse, equitable, and inclusive school community Benefits Generous Paid Time Off including 10 paid holidays, as well as 48 hours of PTO and 48 hours of sick time Extended time off when school is closed for Thanksgiving break (one week), winter break (two weeks) and spring school break (one week) Approximately 95% employer paid medical/dental/vision insurance for employees Annual Health Savings Account (HSA) contribution Life Insurance, AD&D, Short
