The teacher supports the development of the whole child - academically, socially, and emotionally - while respecting and reinforcing the values and culture of the Jewish day school. Key Responsibilities 1. Instruction & Curriculum Plan and deliver engaging, differentiated lessons in reading, writing, math, science, and social studies Implement curriculum aligned with school standards and grade‑level expectations Use a variety of instructional strategies to meet diverse learning needs Incorporate critical thinking, creativity, and problem‑solving into daily instruction Collaborate with Judaic Studies teachers to support student learning and schedule coordination 2. Classroom Environment Create a structured, positive, and inclusive classroom culture Establish clear expectations and routines that support student independence and responsibility Promote respectful behavior and strong character development Maintain an organized and engaging classroom space 3. Student Assessment & Support Assess student progress regularly using formal and informal tools Use data to guide instruction and support individual student growth Communicate student progress clearly through report cards, conferences, and updates Work with learning specialists and counselors to support students with diverse needs 4. Communication & Partnership Build strong, respectful relationships with students and families Communicate proactively and professionally with parents Participate in parent‑teacher conferences and school events Collaborate effectively with colleagues and administration 5. Professional Responsibilities Participate in faculty meetings, professional development, and school initiatives Maintain lesson plans, grading, and documentation in a timely manner Reflect on teaching practice and pursue ongoing professional growth Uphold school policies and model professionalism at all times Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Education or related field (Master's preferred) Valid teaching certification (or working toward certification) Experience teaching elementary students (preferred) Strong knowledge of literacy and math instruction Key Skills & Attributes Warm, nurturing, and student‑centered approach Strong classroom management skills Ability to differentiate instruction effectively Excellent communication and collaboration skills Organized, flexible, and proactive Respect for and alignment with Jewish values and school culture Experience with differentiated instruction and student support services
Pay:
$60,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
