Jeffco Public Schools (Jeffco) is located in Jefferson County, Colorado. It is the second largest school district in Colorado serving 69,000 students across 155 schools. Columbine Hills Elementary School is truly an amazing small school serving 315 students located in the Columbine area of Jefferson County. We believe in teamwork and collaboration to carry out our mission of "Aiming for Success, Believing Together We Can!" We are proud to have a center-based program that supports students with Autism. Min-Mid Annual Salary Range:
$56,085.00•$75,142.00 Effective as of: 08-16-2025 Compensation schedules for Jeffco Schools can be found here. Starting salary for non-licensed roles is based on the candidate's relevant work experience and education. Additional considerations may be given for job-specific certifications and skills. RESPONSIBILITIES

SUMMARY:
Responsible for instructing students in an elementary grades K-6. Creates lesson plans, instructs students on core subjects such as science, literature, and math, and creates a well-rounded, comprehensive instructional preparedness based on the District's Core Curriculum. Create instructional resources for use in the classroom.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Plan, prepare and deliver instructional activities. Create positive educational climate for students to learn in. Meet course and school-wide student performance goals. Participate in ongoing training sessions. Create lesson plans and modify accordingly throughout the year. Grade papers and perform other administrative duties as needed. Read and stay abreast of current topics in education. Utilize various curriculum resources and technologies to enhance student learning. Integrate competencies, goals, and objectives into lesson plans. Utilize District curricula that reflect the diverse educational, cultural, and linguistic backgrounds of the students served. Establish and communicate clear objectives for all learning activities. Prepare and distribute parent communications. Observe and evaluate student's performance. Manage student behavior in the classroom creating appropriate behavior strategies. EDUCATION AND TRAINING
Teacher must hold Colorado Teaching License or authorization. Must meet content-area qualifications, which could include the appropriate license endorsement, degree in the content area, Colorado State Board of Education-approved content exam, or 36 credit hours as determined by the district.
