4th & 5th Grade Classroom Teacher

Position Profile Edison School District 54JT is seeking a dedicated and student-centered educator to serve as a 4th & 5th Grade Combined Classroom Teacher. This position provides an opportunity to teach in a small, supportive rural school environment where strong relationships and individualized instruction are prioritized. Teachers at Edison benefit from an approximately 5:1 student-to-teacher ratio and a 4-day school week, allowing for meaningful instruction, strong student connections, and a balanced professional schedule. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Provide standards-based instruction in English Language Arts, Mathematics, Social Studies, and Science to 4th and 5th grade students Design and implement lesson plans that meet the needs of diverse learners in a combined classroom Differentiate instruction to support varying academic levels and learning styles Utilize formative and summative assessments to monitor student progress and guide instruction Establish and maintain a positive, structured classroom environment that promotes respect and engagement Integrate technology and hands-on learning opportunities where appropriate Communicate regularly with parents/guardians regarding student progress and classroom activities Collaborate with other teachers and staff to support student success and school initiatives Participate in professional development and school improvement efforts Perform additional duties as assigned by administration Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education or related field Valid state teaching license (or ability to obtain) Strong classroom management and organizational skills Benefits (Full-Time Positions) Health insurance Dental/Vision Insurance Supplemental Insurance Life insurance Paid time off (PTO) Retirement Plan Work Environment & Expectations This position follows the district academic calendar and operates within a collaborative, team-oriented school setting.
