ELEMENTARY TEACHER -

One Year Position SCHOOL:

New Fairfield Elementary School

GENERAL DUTIES

Establish a positive learning environment that fosters student engagement, independence, and interdependence. Implement NFPS elementary curriculum, aligned to CT Common Core State Standards, through the use of highly-effective instructional strategies. Provide instructional support and differentiation of instruction for all students. Use effective strategies to ensure student engagement, monitor student progress, and adjust instruction. Collaborate with colleagues, curriculum specialists, and administrators in professional learning and discourse to support the collective growth of the school and district.

QUALIFICATIONS

Connecticut elementary teaching certification. Knowledge of CT Common Core State Standards and effective instructional practices. Strong classroom management skills and the ability to maintain a positive and productive learning environment. Ability to use student data to inform instruction. Strong organizational and communication skills to foster positive relationships with students, staff, and families.
