Job Description

Job Summary Nichols School is seeking a dedicated and passionate Elementary Teacher for our 4th-grade classroom. The ideal candidate will foster a positive and engaging learning environment that promotes academic growth, social development, and emotional well-being. This full-time position requires a commitment to nurturing each student's unique abilities while implementing a dynamic curriculum that aligns with state standards. Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that cater to diverse learning styles and abilities.
  • Create a positive classroom environment that encourages student participation, collaboration, and respect.
  • Assess and evaluate student progress through formal and informal methods, providing constructive feedback to students and parents.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to co-plan and share best practices.
  • Communicate regularly with parents and guardians regarding student performance and classroom activities.
  • Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance teaching skills and stay current with educational trends.
  • Manage classroom behavior effectively, utilizing positive reinforcement and restorative practices.
  • Support and promote school-wide initiatives and activities, fostering a sense of community within the school.
  • Attend faculty meetings, parent-teacher conferences, and other school events as required. Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education or a related field.
  • Valid teaching certification for elementary education.
  • Experience teaching 4th grade or similar age group preferred.
  • Strong understanding of child development and effective instructional strategies.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with students, parents, and colleagues.
  • Proficient in using technology for teaching and classroom management.
  • Ability to create a nurturing and inclusive classroom environment.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development and a passion for education.
