In addition, the school is fully accredited by AISF, AdvancED/SACS, MSA, NCPSA and Ai. What makes Summit-Questa unique is multifaceted. Purpose of the Role The Elementary Montessori Lead Teacher is responsible for creating and maintaining an engaging Montessori classroom environment for students in grades 1 through 3. The teacher serves as a guide and facilitator, supporting the intellectual, social, emotional, and moral development of students while fostering independence, collaboration, responsibility, and a lifelong love of learning. The teacher will present individualized and small-group lessons aligned with Montessori philosophy and developmental practices while cultivating a respectful classroom community that values exploration, creativity, critical thinking, and peaceful problem-solving. ISP Key Responsibilities Prepare and maintain a thoughtfully organized Montessori elementary classroom environment that promotes independence, inquiry, collaboration, and purposeful learning. Present Montessori lessons and individualized instruction across core academic areas including language, mathematics, science, cultural studies, geography, and practical life skills. Support students in developing executive functioning skills, time management, responsibility, organization, independence, and self-motivation. Guide students in developing strong social-emotional skills, grace and courtesy, leadership, collaboration, conflict resolution, and respect for others. Observe students regularly and maintain accurate records of academic, behavioral, and developmental progress. Differentiate instruction and learning opportunities to meet the diverse needs, interests, and readiness levels of students. Create meaningful, hands-on learning experiences that encourage exploration, creativity, critical thinking, and real-world connections. Maintain open, professional, and positive communication with families regarding student progress, classroom activities, and school expectations. Collaborate with classroom assistants, specialists, and colleagues to support student success and classroom operations. Supervise students during classroom activities, transitions, lunch, outdoor play, field trips, and dismissal to ensure student safety and well-being. Participate actively in school events, staff meetings, accreditation activities, professional development, and parent conferences. Maintain compliance with school policies, licensing requirements, health and safety standards, emergency procedures, and safeguarding expectations. Demonstrate professionalism, flexibility, collaboration, and a commitment to continuous growth and lifelong learning. Perform additional duties as assigned by school administration in support of the school community. Skills, Qualifications and Experience Skills Strong understanding of Montessori philosophy and elementary child development Excellent classroom management and organizational skills Ability to facilitate independent, inquiry-based, and collaborative learning experiences Strong communication, observation, and interpersonal skills Ability to foster a positive and inclusive classroom culture Ability to differentiate instruction and support diverse learning needs Collaborative and team-oriented mindset Qualifications Montessori Elementary certification preferred (AMS, AMI, MACTE, or equivalent) or willing to train in Montessori Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education, Early Childhood Education, or related field preferred Florida teaching certification preferred but not required CPR and First Aid certification preferred Successful completion of background screening and required clearances Experience Experience teaching elementary-age students in a Montessori or child-centered educational environment preferred Experience creating and maintaining a prepared Montessori classroom environment Experience with project-based, hands-on, or inquiry-based learning approaches Experience collaborating with families and educational teams
