The candidate performs all duties and responsibilities in alignment with the mission, vision, and values of St. Vincent Ferrer Catholic School and the Diocese of Palm Beach.
Functions and Responsibilities:
Prepare service plans for all identified students that describe how the school will meet the accommodations described in the student's evaluation and/or IEP or 504 plan, and seek input from teachers, parents, and administrators while preparing these plans Prepares an accommodation agreement for each identified student to provide teachers with concise information about the diagnosis and specific accommodations needed for each child. Teachers should receive a copy of the accommodation agreement at the beginning of the year (or immediately after diagnosis) for each accommodated student in their class(es). Tier 2 support using progress monitoring tools, such as DIBELS and MAPS Meet with parents and teachers quarterly, identify action steps for students, parents, and teachers, have all parties sign and review action steps, and review the results at each meeting. Create a schedule (in conjunction with the school principal) at the beginning of the school year that designates a day or days each quarter when you will meet with parents to review the student's plan. Keep teachers apprised of any changes to a student's plan. Create and maintain a system for organizing all documents. Maintain students' accommodation plans, and keep a copy of these in a file cabinet in the resource room. Schedule testing and evaluations as needed. Attend parent meetings to provide insight as to students' needs and to suggest appropriate strategies. Manage all requests for accommodations for standardized testing, including uploading pertinent documentation, and communicate with parents regarding this process. Monitor accommodated students' grades and performance, calling meetings when necessary and serving as an advocate for students. Create and be responsible for intensive reading and math help with identified students. Coordinate speech services with local public schools. Complete benchmark screenings for prospective students in 1st-8th grade applying to SVF in person or on Zoom using MAP, DIBELs, and more. Will perform other duties as assigned by the principal.
Qualifications:
Minimum of a Bachelor's degree Must maintain a valid Florida professional teaching license or be eligible for certification. Maintain an ESE certification through the state of Florida. Excellent, professional interpersonal skills and the ability to maintain confidentiality. Ability to multitask, work independently, and make responsible judgment calls. Strong organizational skills.
