Elementary Teacher The purpose of the elementary teacher is one who takes an active role in creating engaging and meaningful lessons that allows all students to learn and succeed. The classroom teacher will be responsible for creating a management plan that allows for effective instruction. A teacher in the elementary setting is responsible for teaching the students about the content that is pertinent to their class while ultimately remembering that we are training souls for active Christian service in the communities in which they live and work. An elementary classroom teacher will work cooperatively with all members of the teaching staff at the elementary level. In addition, the classroom teachers work directly with the Principal to ensure that all issues regarding the curriculum, student behavior, and student achievement are addressed in a positive and proactive manner. Teachers in our elementary will be mindful of our mission to provide excellence in education rooted in the timeless truths of God's Word. Finally, elementary teachers will seek to make connections and develop relationships with the students and school families that fosters a bridge to sharing the Gospel message. Qualifications Bachelor's Degree in Education preferred Ability to work proficiently in a diverse, multi-cultural setting Effective oral communication and interpersonal skills A desire to actively support the ministerial objectives of Crown of Life Lutheran Church and Academy Exemplary Christian role model who lets his or her "light shine" when interacting with the Crown of Life family and the community Membership in the church is encouraged as well as pursuit of certification from Wisconsin Evangelical Lutheran Synod ("WELS") Compensation and Benefits Base salary starts at $55,000 a year. Elementary Teacher:

1. Creates and delivers effective lessons and assessments in the classroom o Writing and timely submitting long range and weekly lesson plans o Encourages students to set and maintain standards of classroom behavior o Using technology and other visual aids that enhance learning Differentiates lessons as needed for varied types of learners o Strives to implement by instruction and action the philosophy of education of Crown of Life and the WELS, including the WELS teaching standards, and instructional goals and objectives Assesses the accomplishments of students on a regular basis and provides progress reports as required Keeps the grade book up-to-date to ensure accurate records and communication Nurtures a positive school environment for our students and their families Teaches the curriculum as specified by the Principal 2. Creates opportunities to strengthen the school culture of Crown of Life by having open communication with the students and parents Be responsible for the supervision of all children in the school Responding to e-mails and requests for information in a timely manner Being a positive communicator at all times Seeks to do ministry in all interactions with the students and family Works in an effective manner with colleagues Support one another in our mutual ministry to the children Attends staff meetings and serves on staff committees as required Strives to maintain and improve professional competence Be continually aware of their responsibilities as members of a team ministry Deal with staff or other personal conflict problems in a Christ-like manner 3. Supports the administration o Support the efforts and direction of the principal in a spirit of Christian service (I Corinthians 12:28-29) Maintains accurate, complete, and correct records as required by law, Crown of Life policy, and administrative regulation. Assists the administration in implementing all policies and rules governing student life and conduct, and, for the classroom, develops reasonable rules of classroom behavior and procedure, and maintains order in the classroom in a fair and just manner Takes all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect student equipment, materials, and facilities Keep the Principal advised of all important classroom information, discipline matters, and departures from usual routines 5. Maintains a clean and organized classroom, including setting up the learning environment prior to class and cleaning up after class. 6. Abides by all policies and procedures of Crown of Life and follows all instructions of the Principal.
