Open until Filled Ocean Studies Charter School looking for a passionate, collaborative, and creative K-1 Co-Teacher to join our incredible team for the 2026-2027 School Year. Public charter schools in Monroe County School District do not participate in Florida Retirement. They pay their own employees and have their own benefits. This is a unique opportunity to work in a co-teaching classroom environment, where you will partner with another teacher to support our youngest learners through hands-on, whole-child, and experiential learning. We welcome Montessori-trained teachers or those with a Montessori mindset who value independence, exploration, and student-centered learning.

About The Role:

As a K-1 Co-Teacher, you will help create a warm, engaging, and student-centered classroom where children develop independence, curiosity, and a love of learning. At Ocean Studies, we bring learning to life through environmental connections and marine science experiences.

What You'll Do:

Collaborate daily with a co-teacher to plan and deliver instruction Design and support creative, hands-on lessons in early literacy, math, and social-emotional learning Foster a classroom environment built on relationships, respect, and curiosity Support students' academic and developmental growth through differentiated instruction Help create meaningful learning experiences connected to the real world and environment

Requirements:

Eligibility for Florida certification is required. FL certification in Pre-K Primary Education (Age 3 to Grade 3) or Elementary Education (Grades K-6) is a prerequisite for teaching in field. The Bureau of Educator Certification has developed instructional videos to guide applicants through the certification process, covering topics such as Florida's Online Educator Certification System Set-up and the Florida Teacher Certification Application .
