Job Description

JOB PURPOSE
The ideal candidate will have experience teaching students in Kindergarten through Eighth Grade and be committed to fostering a supportive, creative, and inclusive classroom environment. This role requires collaboration with fellow educators, effective communication with parents, and a passion for helping students reach their full potential.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Plan, prepare, and deliver lessons for students in Kindergarten through Eighth Grade (English, Math, Science, Social Studies, etc.) Foster an inclusive, engaging classroom environment that promotes student participation and achievement. Use a variety of instructional strategies and tools to accommodate diverse learning styles and abilities. Assess student performance regularly and provide constructive feedback. Collaborate with other teachers, staff, and parents to support student development. Ensure classroom management that encourages positive behavior, respect, and responsibility. Participate in school-wide initiatives, professional development, and faculty meetings. Maintain accurate records of student progress and attendance. Ensure that lessons are aligned with state standards and educational best practices.
SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE 1.
Subject Knowledge:
Early grades: Literacy, basic math, social studies, science.
Upper grades:
Advanced literacy, math (fractions, algebra), history, science. 2.
Classroom Management:
Positive, respectful environment. Conflict resolution, establishing routines. 3.
Instructional Strategies:
Differentiated instruction. Hands-on learning and group activities. Timely feedback and assessments. 4.
Technology Integration:
Familiarity with educational tools (Google Classroom, interactive whiteboards). Promoting digital citizenship. 5.
Communication Skills:
Clear verbal/written communication with students, parents, and staff. Active listening. 6.
Collaboration:
Teamwork with colleagues and administrators. Participation in professional development. 7.
Behavioral & Emotional Support:
Supporting emotional/social development. Knowledge of special education accommodations (IEPs, 504s). 8.
Adaptability:
Flexible with lesson plans and changes. Willingness to learn and adapt. 9.
Classroom Organization:
Efficient use of space and materials. Time management. 10.
Professionalism:
Ongoing professional development. Knowledge of school policies and child protection laws. 11.
Cultural Competence:
Inclusive teaching and fostering diversity. 12.
Problem-Solving:
Handling challenges and supporting critical thinking.
QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree in education or related field from an accredited college or university or equivalent. Florida Teaching Certification (K-8, or specific subject area certifications) OR Statement of Eligibility. Prior experience teaching Kindergarten through Eighth Grade students (preferred). Strong communication, organizational, and classroom management skills. Ability to adapt teaching strategies to meet the needs of diverse learners. Passion for fostering a positive, inclusive learning environment. Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team. Successful results of criminal and employment background check. Adherence to the requirements of the Code of Ethics for the Education Profession.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS
Salary and benefits will be provided in accordance with the School's established compensation and benefits policies. The work year and hours of employment will be determined by ENCCS guidelines.
FLSA OVERTIME CATEGORY
Job is non-exempt from the overtime provisions of the Fair Labor Standards Act.
EVALUATION
Performance will be evaluated in accordance with Eagles' Nest Community Charter Schools' policy.
