Job Description

The Innovative School of Temple Beth Sholom on Miami Beach is growing and seeking an energetic, dynamic, reflective and intentional Elementary Level Lead Teacher for the 2026-27 school year. We are a Reggio-inspired school, which means that we value a learner-centered approach in our classrooms. Our educators should be excited by this approach and have a passion for child development and how children learn. The responsibilities of the Lead Teacher include developing approaches and methodologies that incorporate state standards while enabling a child to co-construct their learning within a joyful, academic, engaging environment. By building and nurturing relationships with learners, Lead Teachers will understand their interests and curiosities as well as how they learn best. Their observations and insights will contribute to decisions about curriculum, assessment, and tailored learning experiences. The Lead Teacher, supported by an Assistant or Associate Teacher, will support learners' growth across social, emotional and cognitive domains. The Lead Teacher brings formal training and educator experience, interpersonal skills and a desire for professional growth to contribute to a school culture rooted in joyful learning and academic excellence. They will embrace and model the school's KEHILLA values— kindness, empathy, honesty, integrity, acceptance, and lifelong learning—as is expected of all members of the broader school community. Lead Teachers will demonstrate openness to observation and feedback and willingness to grow as a collaborative, reflective educator. The Innovative School is a collaborative workplace, where all voices are valued, and robust professional development opportunities are offered.
