We are a non-profit organization that provides services to children with learning disabilities and other special needs. Our teachers are committed to providing a learning environment that promotes social and emotional skills as well as daily living skills. We are hiring both Part-time and Full-time teachers. Teachers are responsible for developing their students' independence and helping them reach their full potential, both in academics and social skills. Teachers will understand each child as a unique individual, and work together to create a learning environment that will foster future success. Responsibilities Follow lesson plans and set goals for the day while assisting in monitoring progress Develop lesson plans for the following day based on student performance, interests, and needs Maintain a classroom environment that is conducive to learning Work with other teachers, parents, and staff to create a supportive learning environment Maintain a safe environment for students to learn Communicate effectively with parents throughout the day Maintain classroom supplies, equipment, and classroom cleanliness Create an open communication climate between students, parents, teachers, and staff Participate in staff meetings and professional development opportunities Attend all required staff meetings and trainings Skills Previous experience as an elementary teacher or other teaching position preferred but not required Experience working with children with special needs preferred but not required Ability to work with children in kindergarten through grade 12 in general classroom settings preferred but not required
