As the educational partner supporting Orange Center STEAM Academy, NSI works to ensure every student has access to an exceptional learning experience that prepares them for long-term success. By investing in strong school leadership, outstanding educators, innovative instruction, and meaningful family engagement, NSI is helping build a model school where students can thrive academically, socially, and emotionally while strengthening the broader community. NSI is looking for a 2nd Grade ​General Education Teacher ​ to serve as the primary instructional leader in the classroom, responsible for delivering high-quality instruction that drives student achievement and growth. This role creates a safe, engaging, and inclusive learning environment that supports the academic and social development of all students. The teacher collaborates with colleagues, families, and school leadership to implement the school's instructional program and uphold its mission. Success in this role is defined by strong student outcomes, effective classroom management, and meaningful engagement with students and families.
Essential Job Requirements:
Deliver standards-aligned instruction that supports student learning and academic growth. Plan, prepare, and implement engaging lessons that meet the diverse needs of students. Create and maintain a positive, structured, and inclusive classroom environment. Assess and monitor student progress regularly and adjust instruction accordingly. Utilize a variety of instructional strategies and technology to enhance learning. Maintain accurate and timely records, including grades, attendance, and progress reports. Communicate effectively with parents and guardians regarding student progress and needs. Collaborate with instructional staff to support student achievement and school goals. Participate in professional development and ongoing learning opportunities. Implement classroom management strategies that promote student engagement and appropriate behavior. Ensure the safety and well-being of all students at all times. Support school-wide initiatives, activities, and events. Maintain confidentiality of student information in accordance with legal requirements. Follow all school policies, procedures, and expectations. Assist with supervision of students throughout the school day. Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications Education:
A bachelor's degree from an accredited institution is required.
Experience:
Prior teaching experience preferred. Charter school experience preferred.
License/Certification:
Valid Florida teaching certificate appropriate for the subject and grade level required, or eligibility to obtain certification. ESOL, ESE, or Gifted endorsements preferred.
Skills and Abilities:
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal. Ability to manage a classroom effectively. Strong planning and organizational skills. Ability to analyze student data and adjust instruction. Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build relationships with students and families. Proficiency in educational technology and Microsoft Office.
Demonstrated Knowledge:
Knowledge of instructional best practices and research-based teaching strategies. Understanding of curriculum development, implementation, and evaluation. Knowledge of data analysis and progress monitoring systems. Understanding of classroom management strategies and student engagement practices. Knowledge of Florida education requirements and accountability systems.

Frequent Requirements:
Must pass a Level II background check. Must be authorized to work in the United States. Strong alignment with NSI mission and educational philosophy.
