As a Kindergarten Teacher at Primrose School of Alpharetta, you'll help prepare students for elementary school through small group academic lessons, scientific investigation, creative expression, physical well-being, and social and emotional development. Make a difference every day. Teach children through the design thinking process with challenges that help them learn problem-solving skills, innovative thinking, executive function skills and good character. Help children learn critical literacy and math skills as well as engage in projects focused on science, art, social studies and character development. Work with your co-teacher to implement the lesson plans from the research-informed Balanced Learning® curriculum. Discover what works best for each child (songs, stories, games, art, etc.) to motivate and stimulate their abilities.
Qualifications:
Bachelor Degree in Early Childhood Education or related field (required) Georgia State Teaching License preferred Classroom teaching experience in an accredited early childhood facility a plus Pleasant/friendly demeanor and an outgoing personality Highly professional and dependable Excellent communication, customer service, and problem solving skills, including the ability to maintain composure under stress Strong organization skills, able to multi-task, and can manage time to meet frequently changing deadlines in a fast-paced environment Able to interact with students of all ages and skill levels Proficient computer and internet skills Must be able to lift up to 35 lbs. in connection with the handling of children for the facilitation of programs, child safety, and potential emergency situations
Responsibilities:
Must meet basic requirements of local child care regulatory agency (BFTS) Previous teaching or assistant teaching position in a licensed early childhood program preferred Knowledge of the social, emotional and creative needs of young children Must be able to lift up to 35 lbs. in connection with the handling of children for the facilitation of programs, child safety, and potential emergency situations. 4 year degree in Early Childhood Education Coachable Competent and confident High integrity Good listening and follow-up skills Able to work with others harmoniously High coping capabilities Solution and detail-oriented Strong organizational skills Excellent verbal and written communication skills
