License and Certification Qualifications:

Certified Public Accountant (CPA) Chartered Accountant (CA) Georgia teaching certification required.

Education Qualifications:

Accounting, Business Administration, or related discipline MBA with Accounting Specialization.

Experience Qualifications:

Experience in an accounting role using accounting software. Experience with contracts and interpretation of contractual terms.

Skills Qualifications:

Ability to communicate effectively in both oral and written form. Ability to recognize, analyze, and solve a variety of problems. Knowledge of generally accepted accounting procedures and principles. Ability to analyze, consolidate, and interpret accounting data. Highly proficient in Microsoft Office programs.

Primary Responsibilities:

Provides Financial Information To Management by compiling and analyzing account information; analyzing accounting options; preparing balance sheets, profit and loss statements, and other special reports; reconciling discrepancies; auditing documents; preparing and recommending policies and procedures; guiding clerical staff. Prepares asset, liability, and capital account entries by compiling and analyzing account information. Documents financial transactions by entering and securing account information. Recommends financial actions by analyzing accounting options. Complies with federal, state and local financial legal requirements by studying existing and new legislation, enforcing adherence to requirements, and advising management on needed actions. Summarizes current financial status by collecting information; preparing balance sheets, profit and loss statements, and other special reports. Substantiates financial transactions by reconciling discrepancies; auditing documents. Maintains accounting controls by adhering to and enforcing internal controls. Prepares payments by verifying documentation, and requesting disbursements. Answers accounting procedure questions by researching and interpreting accounting policy and regulations. Guides accounting clerical staff by coordinating activities and answering questions. Maintains customer confidence and protects operations by keeping financial information confidential. Improves accounting job knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional and technical publications; establishing personal networks; benchmarking state-of-the-art practices; participating in professional societies.

Physical Demands:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to stand, walk, negotiate stairs, climb ladders, reach with hands and arms, talk, and hear, manipulate tools and small items with hands, and lift and transport up to 50 pounds over short distances. The employee is required to operate a motor vehicle in performance of duties. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, and color vision. The employee may be subjected to a wide range of ambient temperature and humidity conditions while working on equipment under varying conditions including overhead work and work in confined spaces. Potential hazards of this position include working with electricity, working with heat and noise producing machinery and equipment, working on elevated equipment using ladders or other lifting devices, and use of chemicals and solvents.
