Job Description

Position Title:
5th
Grade TeacherFLSA Status:
Exempt Reports to: Building Principal
POSITION PURPOSE
To provide a positive learning environment for all students that guides and encourages students to develop and fulfill their academic potential, along with their social and emotional well-being.
QUALIFICATIONS
Requires the following minimum qualifications: Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution. Current Iowa Teaching License with the appropriate endorsement code for the subject area. Knowledge of the subject, curriculum, and effective teaching methods. Demonstrated effectiveness in oral and written communications. Ability to establish and maintain cooperative and effective working relationships with students, staff, and parents.
Preferred Qualifications:
Recent experience in K-12 General Education (experience should be within the past three years to be considered recent). Reading endorsement LETRS certified
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Demonstrates an ability to enhance academic performance and support for implementing the school district's student achievement goals. Demonstrates competence in planning, preparing, and delivering quality instruction. Uses a variety of methods to monitor student learning. Maintains accurate and complete records of students' progress and development. Demonstrates competence in content knowledge appropriate to the teaching position. Uses strategies to deliver instruction that meets the learning needs of all students. Demonstrates competence in classroom management. Provides supervision to ensure the safety and well-being of our students Fulfills professional responsibilities established by the school district. Maintains strict confidentiality and abides by professional ethics. Engages in professional growth. Adheres to all federal, state, and local educational laws, including Board Policy, Administrative Regulations, and district handbooks. Performs other such duties as assigned.
