Job Description

Iowa Valley Elementary is seeking a 3rd Grade Teacher for the 2026-2027 school year. The Iowa Valley Community School District is a rural public school district headquartered in Marengo, Iowa. The district spans areas of north-central Iowa County, including the town of Marengo, and the unincorporated area of Koszta, Iowa. The mission of the Iowa Valley Community School District is to provide a safe, comfortable, clean, and caring environment where community and staff work together to provide an education that will maximize each individual's potential, instill a sense of self-worth, and prepare them for life-long learning. An elementary classroom teacher is responsible for educating young minds, creating lesson plans, assessing student progress, and fostering a positive learning environment.
Key Responsibilities Develop and Implement Lesson Plans :
Create engaging lesson plans that align with curriculum guidelines and cater to the diverse learning needs of students.
Assess Student Performance :
Evaluate student progress through various assessments and provide feedback to students and parents regarding their academic development. Create a
Positive Learning Environment :
Foster a supportive and stimulating classroom atmosphere that encourages student participation and promotes social and emotional growth. Communicate with
Parents and Staff :
Maintain open lines of communication with parents about student progress and behavior, and collaborate with colleagues to enhance student learning experiences. Particpate in
Professional Development:
Engage in ongoing professional development to stay current with educational best practices and improve teaching strategies.
Experience :
Previous experience in teaching at the elementary level is preferred but not required.
Skills:
Strong communication, classroom management, and organizational skills are essential. Proficiency in using educational technology is also important. Iowa Valley CSD is an EEO.
