Job Summary:
The Kindergarten Teacher is responsible for providing a safe, engaging, and inclusive learning environment for kindergarten students. This role focuses on fostering academic, social, and emotional growth while promoting a love of learning. The teacher will deliver instruction aligned with state and district standards, assess student progress, and collaborate with colleagues, families, and support staff to meet the needs of all students.
Key Responsibilities:
Plan, prepare, and deliver developmentally appropriate lessons in reading, writing, mathematics, science, social studies, and other subjects according to district curriculum standards. Utilize differentiated instruction strategies to meet the diverse learning needs of students. Foster a positive, nurturing classroom environment that encourages curiosity, creativity, and respect. Monitor and assess student progress through formative and summative assessments, maintaining accurate records. Communicate regularly with parents/guardians regarding student progress, behavior, and classroom activities. Collaborate with colleagues, special education staff, and support personnel to enhance student learning and address individual needs. Incorporate technology and other resources to enhance instruction and engagement. Maintain classroom organization and manage student behavior using proactive and positive approaches. Participate in professional development opportunities, staff meetings, and school-wide initiatives. Uphold school policies, procedures, and expectations to ensure a safe and productive learning environment.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Education or a related field; valid teaching certification for the appropriate grade level. Experience teaching early elementary grades preferred. Strong knowledge of kindergarten curriculum, instructional strategies, and child development. Excellent classroom management, communication, and organizational skills. Ability to build positive relationships with students, families, and colleagues. Commitment to fostering an inclusive and equitable learning environment.
Working Conditions:
Full-time position during the school year, typically Monday through Friday. Classroom setting with frequent interaction with students, staff, and parents. May require occasional evening or weekend events for school functions. All recommendations for hire are tentative offers.
