QUALIFICATIONS
Holds a minimum of a bachelor's degree from an accredited University or College Meets all licensure requirements including teaching or specialist area endorsement in the state of Illinois Demonstrates current pedagogical practices in the classroom through participation in a professional learning community Demonstrates ability to utilize a variety of data sources and problem-solving structures in order to ensure the academic and social-emotional success of all students. Makes data-driven decisions using formative and summative assessments All Applicants
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Planning and Preparation Demonstrates content knowledge and makes connections between content and all relevant disciplines. Understands child and adolescent development and displays an understanding of how students learn. Establishes and clearly articulates instructional outcomes based upon district curriculum guidelines, state standards, and/or content standards. Utilizes personnel resources as appropriate to enhance content and pedagogical knowledge. Provides relevant instructional goals that represent significant cognitive challenge with differentiation and meaningful learning. Uses assessment results to plan and modify instruction. Participates in IEP conferences including the preparation of IEP goals and paperwork in compliance with established laws, regulations, district policies and procedures. 2. Classroom Environment Creates an environment of respect and rapport. Establishes a culture for learning. Establishes and manages classroom procedures to maximize learning. Effectively manages student behavior through the establishment of rules and clear expectations that are fair and conducive to learning. Assures the classroom is safe and learning is equally accessible to all students. 3. Instruction Communicates expectations for learning to students clearly and accurately. Uses questioning and discussion techniques to successfully engage all students in the learning process. Engages students in the learning process through intellectual involvement with the content or active construction of understanding. Uses formative and summative assessments to inform instructional process. Demonstrates flexibility and responsiveness to ensure that all students learn. 4. Professional Responsibilities Reflects on teaching for improvement opportunities. Maintains accurate records. Communicates with students and families about student progress, respects cultural norms, and engages families in the instructional program. Develops and maintains professional relationships with colleagues who demonstrate mutual support and cooperation. Seeks professional development opportunities and welcomes professional feedback. Provides all services/modifications as required by an IEP in an integrated model. Displays high standards of integrity and ethical conduct and fully complies with school and district regulations.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT
Employment determined by school calendar. Salary and benefits to be established in the Negotiated Agreement with the Board of Education. Starting salary is $53,990.
EVALUATION
 The School Principal and/or immediate administrative supervisor will serve as the evaluator with the evaluation incorporating the guidelines established in the Evaluation Plan for Licensed Staff.
