Outreach is hiring a Full-Time Elementary Teacher at Outreach Warrenville to support students academically and in life skills during our Compass summer program. Schedule Staff Training

Responsibilities The Elementary Teacher is responsible for building relationships with students and facilitating learning in the summer day program. The Elementary Teacher will lead academic and life skills instruction, community service and recreational activities, teach Christian education, and facilitate group work with students involving experiential learning. The Elementary Teacher is responsible for parent communication and maintaining Outreach's standard of classroom behavior during program time. The class size averages fifteen to twenty students.

Requirements:

BA in Education, Social Work, or a related field. A passion for working with elementary-age students. Classroom or group experience with children. Previous experience facilitating experiential or service learning is strongly preferred. Experience with and sensitivity to the needs of students from low-income, high-risk families. Bilingual (Spanish/ English) strongly preferred. A current, valid IL driver's license, along with a good driving record, is required. A commitment to Outreach's Statement of Mission & Faith.
