Carlin Park Elementary is seeking a dedicated and student-centered Elementary Education Teacher to join our team. We are committed to fostering a positive, inclusive learning environment where all students can thrive academically and socially.
POSITION OVERVIEW
The Elementary Education Teacher is responsible for delivering high-quality instruction, supporting student growth, and collaborating with staff and families to ensure student success.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Plan and deliver high-quality instruction aligned with Indiana Academic Standards, district curriculum maps, and adopted instructional resources Implement Science of Reading-aligned literacy instruction to support early reading development Use assessment data to inform instruction and monitor student progress Create a safe, inclusive, and supportive classroom environment that promotes student engagement and learning Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse needs of learners Collaborate with grade-level teams, instructional coaches, and support staff to improve student outcomes Communicate effectively with students, families, and colleagues Participate actively in Professional Learning Communities (PLCs) to plan instruction, analyze student data, share best practices, and develop interventions Implement research-based instructional strategies, including SIOP (Sheltered Instruction Observation Protocol) components to support English Language Learners Maintain proactive communication with students, families, and staff Participate in extracurricular activities as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS
Valid Indiana Teaching License in Elementary Education (K-6) Science of Reading training required Strong knowledge of evidence-based literacy practices and early reading development Strong classroom management skills, proficiency with educational technology, and excellent interpersonal communication Commitment to collaboration, continuous improvement, and student success Completion of Safe Hiring Solutions' expanded background check, including the Department of Child Services index
